Our Mission
Community Independence Support Services Inc. (CISS) is recognised as a world-class community service that supports older people and those with a disability through the provision of individual responsive support services which enables them to remain living in their family home.

In the pursuit of excellence, CISS:

attracts and retains high-quality staff through training, providing a supportive environment and valuing their contribution.

Our Guiding Principles
Guiding principles are used by CISS to assist in setting priorities and to provide a framework for the provision of our services. These principles are:

A CISS service coordinator assists people to access community services and ensures that individuals are informed about the options available to them, including the following CISS programs.

Community Options Program
Case Management
This service provides a case management service for older and frail aged people, younger people with moderate to severe or profound disabilities, and their carers, with complex care needs. This service includes a comprehensive assessment, individual case planning, service co-ordination and monitoring, regular review, and case closure.

This service is provided to people living in the Bankstown and Auburn local government areas.

Dementia In-Home Support Program
Support with Daily Living – Low Support Needs
This program provides support to a person diagnosed with dementia to maintain or enhance their daily living activities. Priority for this service is given to those people with dementia who live alone or for whom other services may not be appropriate.

This service is provided to people living in the Bankstown local government area.

Support at Home Program
Domestic Assistance – Low Support Needs
This program provides support to older and frail aged people and people with moderate to severe or profound disabilities who live alone and have low support needs. The support provided assists such people with their household tasks, such as cleaning, washing and ironing within their home.

This service is provided to people living in the Bankstown local government area.

ComPack Program
A Case-Managed Package of Support
ComPack is a case-managed package of support for up to six weeks after discharge from participating hospitals. This service has been established for people who need two or more community services to ensure they can return home safely with appropriate care in place.

This service is provided to people living in the Bankstown and Auburn local government areas.

Dementia In-Home Respite Program
Support to Maintain Caring Role
This program provides up to five hours per week in-home respite for carers of people with moderate to severe dementia living at home. Priority for this service is given to carers with Polish, Arabic and Vietnamese backgrounds but access is open to all.

This service is provided to people living in the Bankstown local government area.

Dementia Respite Program
Bus Trips and Holiday

Bus Trips
This service provides the opportunity for carers and people with moderate dementia who are living at home to meet others for a monthly community outing.

This service is provided to people living in the Bankstown local government area.

Holiday
This service allows carers and people with moderate dementia who are living at home to take a short holiday. They can meet people in a similar situation and support staff provide assistance to ensure the break is enjoyed by all.

This service is provided to people living in the Bankstown local government area.

Community Social Outings Program
Bus Trips
Community Social Outings is a service for older and frail aged people and those with moderate to severe disabilities who live alone and are socially isolated. This service provides an opportunity to meet people and make new friends.

This service is provided to people living in the Bankstown and Auburn local government area.
